About Westbeach

WestBeach, one of the south coast’s most celebrated seafood restaurants, has received yet another accolade, this time from the “Bible” of good eating – The Michelin Guide 2008

Following Anonymous visits by its professional inspectors, the restaurant, which is located just minutes from the beach and Pier at Bournemouth,, has earned itself a coveted recommendation by delighting their palettes with its contemporary offering of fresh, locally caught seafood and outstanding team efforts – who have over 90 collective years of experience.

Due to its obsessive research and rigorously high standards (the criteria of which are unknown to even the most experienced chefs). the Michelin Guide is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious and reliable food guides world-wide.

With its fresh approach, its seems WestBeach served up exactly what this year’s inspectors were looking for. Michelin Guide Editor, Derek Bulmer, says: “Informal dining, greater use of locally grown produce and seasonality are the trends evident in this year’s guide. Customers are demanding more information about food provenance and sustainability, and chefs are responding by rediscovering local ingredients.”

This contributes to WestBeach’s already extensive award collection, which includes a four out of five star review by Sunday Times food critic AA Gill, the AA accolade, Best Seafood Restaurant in England for 2005/2006 and Best Tourism Restaurant at the Dorset Tourism Awards 2007

Restaurant proprietor, Andy Price says: “We’ve absolutely delighted to have been recognised by the world leading benchmark in food quality and innovation, it’s a huge credit to our dedicated team of professionals who continually strive to provide a uniqure and unrivalled dining experience for people within Bournemouth area and beyond.”
